Proxy Transfer
Transfers Vertex Groups From Proxy Mesh.
Proxy Threads Copy
If On the threads will be exactly the same as on Proxy Mesh, if Off threads will be calculated using highpoly which might give slightly different results.
Proxy
Object to be selected as Proxy Mesh.
If you’re using Retopo Planes it can be a copy of the same object with a lower subdiv.
Otherwise you may use “Proxy” geometry nodes asset on a copied object to create a decimated version of a mesh.
Steps for using Proxy Transfer
First drop Proxy geonode onto a copy of a mesh. After setting the detail size apply modifier.
Next drop Tear Painter onto Proxy Object as usual. With lower density mesh it will work much smoother.
Once you’re satisfied with the result, copy the modifier to the original mesh. And choose Proxy Transfer and select Proxy Mesh as source.
Note: Tear Painter modifier on Proxy mesh needs to be disabled in viewport for Proxy Transfer to work correctly.
