Preserved Threads

Once the asset is succesfully installed. You’ll find three operators in the Edges menu in edit mode (Ctrl+E).

Preserved Threads

To spawn Preserved Threads select a pair edges on each side of the tear (selection should be composed of two separate edge „paths”) and use Preserved Threads from edges context menu (Ctrl+E)

Bottom left corner menu contains operators for Remove Preserved Threads and Switch Preserved Direction.

Switch Preserved Direction

Untangles Preserved Threads if they’re spawned incorrectly.

Tip: In the bottom left corner you can also clear Switch Direction Attribute.

Density

Density of cards.

Tip: can be addtionally control with vertex group in the masks panel.

Segments

Number of segments in cards.

Segments by Length

Optimizes mesh density by the length of cards.

Chaos

Randomizes which edges will be connected using Preserved Threads.

Push

Pushes cards in normals direction.

Gravity

Pulls cards downwards.

Gravity by Normals

Tear Cards Generator uses planes from picked UV Guide collections to set UV coordinates of the cards. 

Min Width

Min width of spawned cards measured in number of edges.

Max Width

Max width of spawned cards measured in number of edges.

Length Tolerance

Measures difference in size of connected edges. Cards of proportionally bigger edges will be deleted.

Seed

Randomizes spawining of cards.
